Conference Theme and Aim
Truth, as a topic, can be understood in at least two ways. It can be understood to concern the nature of truth itself, or, more broadly, to concern the truth about some specific subject matter, such as the nature of mind or of modality. Likewise understanding can be understood either to concern the nature of human understanding itself, or how best to understand some other subject matter, such as moral responsibility or evidence.
We intend the theme of this conference to be interpreted very broadly. And so we invite papers contributing to the truth about or our understanding of any subject matter falling within the Western tradition of philosophy, including issues in the history of philosophy.
The aim of this conference is to bring together philosophers from around the world to discuss cutting edge work on issues in the tradition of Western Philosophy. We hope by doing this to promote research of Western Philosophy in South Korea and to promote interaction between philosophers from different countries in East Asia and further afield.
