are actively carrying out research on power generation and energy processes using various fuels with high efficiencies and
low environmental impacts. The
main research topics include
-Ammonia cofiring with coal for low carbon electricity generation
-Hydrogen production by reforming, pyrolysis, and cracking of natural gas, biogas, and ammonia
-Low NOx combustion and control technologies for industrial boilers and furnaces
-Biomass and bioenergy via combustion, gasification and pyrolysis and torrefaction
-AI-based performance forecast and control of energy processes
-Design and diagnostics of flow, heat transfer, and reactions using computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
-Integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC)

-석탄화력 초저 NOx 연소기술: BHI, 한국생산기술연구원
-석탄가스화 복합발전(IGCC) CFD 및 시뮬레이터 기술: 한국서부발전, 한국에너지기술연구원, 두산에너빌리티
-바이오매스 반탄화, 열분해, 가스화 및 연소: 한국남동발전, 한국생산기술연구원 등
-제철공정, 소각로, 산업로 온실가스/미세먼지 저감 기술: RIST(포스코), 한국기계연구원 등
-온실가스 고정 등을 위한 바이오촤(biochar) 생산 및 활용기술
-전산유동해석(CFD) 및 시뮬레이터 개발을 통한 에너지 공정의 설계 및 운전 진단 및 최적화
-SCR, SNCR 등의 보일러 탈질 설비 성능 최적화 등
